Account & Data Deletion

What's the difference between deleting data and deleting my account?
Recidy offers two options: Delete data removes all your organizations and files but keeps your account active so you can continue using Recidy. Delete account permanently removes both your data and account - you lose access and cannot sign in again. Choose based on whether you want a fresh start or to leave Recidy completely.
Can I recover my account or data after deletion?
No. Both deletions are permanent and immediate. If you delete your data, all organizations and files are permanently removed. If you delete your account, everything including your login access is removed forever. Neither can be recovered.
Is my data deleted immediately?
Yes. Your data is removed from active systems immediately. Backups are purged within 30 days. Any data required by law (e.g., tax records) may be retained for the legally mandated period.
What happens to my subscription when I delete?
Active subscriptions are automatically canceled when you delete your data or account. You won't be charged again, but no refunds are issued for unused time.
Can I export my data before deleting?
Yes! Before deleting, you can export reports and download attachments from within the app. Go to Settings → Export data or contact info@recidy.com for assistance.
What if I'm part of a shared organization?
If you're the owner and delete your data or account, the organization is removed for all members. If you're a member and delete your data or account, you're removed but the organization continues for others. Consider removing yourself from shared organizations before deleting.
Can I delete my personal organization?
Your personal organization is your default account and cannot be deleted individually from the organization details screen. This protects your primary account from accidental deletion. However, your personal organization is included when you delete your data or delete your entire account from your profile settings.
I can't access the app. How do I delete my account?
Contact us at info@recidy.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Include your registered email address and we'll process your request within 3 business days. For detailed instructions, see our Data & Account Deletion page.

Billing & Subscriptions

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards via Google Play and Apple App Store in-app purchases. For South African users, we also support EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) payments in ZAR (South African Rand).
Can I switch between monthly and annual plans?
Yes! You can change your subscription plan at any time through the app. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Premium subscriptions can be canceled through your Google Play Store or Apple App Store account settings. Your premium features remain active until the end of your current billing period, then you'll automatically switch to the free plan.
Do you offer refunds?
Refund policies are governed by Google Play and Apple App Store policies. Generally, no refunds are provided for unused subscription time, but exceptions may apply. Contact the store directly for refund requests.
What happens when I downgrade to free?
You'll lose access to premium features (advanced AI, priority support, export reports) and storage will be limited to 2 GB. Your data remains safe, but you may need to delete files if you exceed the free storage limit.

Features & Usage

How does receipt scanning work?
Recidy uses OCR and automatic data extraction to pull key details from receipts and invoices, such as merchant name, date, and total. Take a photo or upload an image, then review and edit the extracted information before saving.
Can I use Recidy for both business and personal finances?
Absolutely! Recidy works great for personal expense tracking, household budgets, small businesses, and freelancers. You can create separate organizations to keep business and personal finances separate.
How many team members can I invite?
Free plan: 1 team member. Premium Monthly/Annual: Up to 5 team members per organization. Team members can collaborate on invoices, expenses, and reports with role-based access controls.
Is my data synced across devices?
Yes! All your data is automatically synced in real-time across all your iOS and Android devices. Changes made on one device instantly appear on others.
Can I export my financial data?
Premium users can export detailed reports in CSV or PDF formats. This includes invoices, expenses, and financial summaries for tax purposes or accounting software integration.

Security & Privacy

Is my financial data secure?
Yes. We use 256-bit encryption for all data at rest and in transit. Your files are securely stored on AWS infrastructure with automatic backups and industry-standard security measures.
Do you comply with privacy regulations?
Yes. We comply with POPI Act (South Africa), GDPR (EU), and other international data protection regulations. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Who can see my financial data?
Only you and team members you explicitly invite to your organizations can access your data. Our staff cannot view your financial information unless you grant permission for support purposes.
Can I enable biometric authentication?
Yes! Recidy supports Face ID, Touch ID, and fingerprint authentication on supported devices. Enable it in Settings → Security for added protection.

Getting Started

Do I need to provide payment information for the free plan?
No! The free plan is completely free with no credit card required. Just download the app, create an account, and start tracking your finances immediately.
What's the difference between personal profile and organization?
Your personal profile is your default account for personal finances. Organizations are separate workspaces for businesses, projects, or shared household budgets where you can invite team members.
Is Recidy available on desktop?
Currently, Recidy is mobile-first and available on iOS (12.0+) and Android (6.0+). All data is synced to the cloud, so you can access it from any device with the app installed.
How do I get support?
Email us at info@recidy.com with your question or issue. Premium users receive priority support with responses within 24 hours. Free users typically receive responses within 2-3 business days.
